World Championships 2012

Because we here at LNS are all for friendly(or hostile)wagers, it's time to run down the contenders for the 2012 World Championships in Limburg a punchy fast course that will suit guys who can climb as well as sprint. PLACE YOUR BETS!!!!!

The earing is obviously the source of all his power, PhilGil is the favorite in Europe's version of Vegas which is basically the whole continent. He's on top of the board at 3/1 for obvious reasons would you bet against him?

The Slovakian super man who burst on to the scene this year at the TDF is getting his well earned respect sitting at 7/2, and I for one would not be surprised to see the Saganator wheelie across the line. 

 Because no European betting line is complete without a Spanish under achiever we'll throw Valverde in here at 8/1. Some other riders of note include Tasmanian Matt Goss 11/1, Eddy "Boss" Boasson Hagen sleeping at 12/ 1 and Oscar Freire at 16/1. However coming into form at just the right time as champs always do, at 14/1 don't be shocked if Tommeke Boonen has a "HOLLLDDMAAADICKK" moment and throws those colored bars on his back. Have your bets in by Sept 23rd ladies, and stay tuned for watch party info.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Anthony Wins at Tradewinds

A good friend of LNS, Anthony Yaques, won a hard Cat 4,5 race today. The brutal wind at Tradewinds park made for an eventful race. The first move went 10 minutes into the 30min+2 endeavor and kept a gap of around 15 seconds over the group. At the 25 minute mark a group of 3 left the 15 man group shredding it to pieces. At this point there were riders all over the place just trying to catch the wheel in front of them. A huge turn of work by Almo Cattani brought both Sean Kenney and Anthony Yaques back into the lead group of around 10. With two laps to go the juniors from the interactive metronome team did their best to lead it out for their leader in the pink jersey however Anthony had other plans on his mind and unleashed a hell of a sprint to take the win.

Congrats on the win Anthony!

By the way Anthony is also the defending champ at the Marlins Crit so show up and take your shot at dethroning him!

Game Face

Everyone has one, some are better than others. The worst you ask, unquestionably Cadel Evans but more on the flying chin later. The best race face goes to my man Tommy Voeckler, the pro peloton may not like you but fuck those guys. Keep attacking Voeckler!

All-City Nature Boy

A complete Nature Boy will set you back $899 while the frameset comes in around $549.This bike is more than enough to get you racing with a steel frame and fork as well as enough clearance for tires as large as 38c without fenders. It comes with an internally routed rear brake cable and a rust resistant finish to keep you rolling for years to come. Felt Breed

One of the rare offerings from a larger more commercial company, the Breed offers a great package at decent price to get you started on your cyclocross endeavors. It comes right out of the box ready to race with an all aluminum frame, carbon fork and tried and true cantilever brakes. The complete bike will set you back $949 but brings a high overall build quality with it. If you're looking to pick up your own, check out Felt's dealer page.

Civilian Le Roi Le Veut

The other heavy hitter in this segment is the Civilian Le Roi Le Veut. This bike comes out swinging with a steel frame, tapered full carbon fork, and disk brakes. One of the nicer features of this bike is the adjustable dropouts with an integrated derailleur hanger, giving you the ability to upgrade to gears down the road or keep it a single speed as originally intended. The tapered carbon fork and disk brakes negate any fork chatter. This multi-purpose machine will set you back a cool $1049 at Competitive Cyclist. The only downside seems to be the price but the extra features put it back in our good graces.

Popping Bottles

Only acceptable providing that you are A) on the podium following a bossy performance and B) bottles were supplied to you free of charge. Being surrounded by and spraying of beautiful women in tight race promotion attire is also encouraged.

Dear Triathlete

I wish you could find another activity to fulfill the third leg of your athletic farce. This way we would never have to cross paths and you could stay out of our bike shoppes as well as off our roads. I don't understand why you feel the need to interrupt a bike ride in order to run and swim but thank you for doing so in a manner that allows us to mock and lampoon you to no end. Luckily for you Cross Fit came along and saved you from being the least liked of the sporting community, however I'm sure that's a passing fad and you will be back on top soon! Here are some pictures which I feel sum you up pretty well, that is all have a nice day.
