To any one who may have had a less than desirable outcome in this weekends races, feel free to take your complimentary two day grace period now. During this time you may whine and bitch about the guy who wrecked you or tell your friends how you would most certainly have won had he not. But then get back to it...

Pirata

The Pirate, winner of the Giro and the Tour in the same year. Perhaps one of the best climbers ever as well as an ultimate bad ass. Banned from cycling due to suspicion of talent and ZERO failed drug tests. The depression of banishment would later cost him his life stemming from cocaine poisoning...Cheers Marco we here at LNS give credit where credit is due.

BOONEN

Boonen adds 2012 Paris-Brussels title to his palmares...will the former coke snorting tornado take the world championships next on a course that isn't billed as a sprinters parcours?

STRAVA

Are you on Strava? I am. What is Strava you ask? Well, think of it as a social networking site for cycling and running. In short the site enables you to post your rides via GPS enabled device. Because of the nature of GPS data, you're able to create what strava calls, "Segements".

Segments are point to point lengths of road. Think of it as a non sancationed time trial on the streets. So you're going along your ride, and you ride through this "virtual" segment. If you ride this segment the fastest when compared to others who have ridden the same segment, then you earn a King of the Mountain (KOM) for that segment.

As you can imagine this creates a sense of competition between people you may or may not know. Although it may not be a legitament race, to hold a convetant KOM gives you a sense of accomplishment. So you're the KOM, now what? Well don't worry...soon enough someone will come along and steal your KOM. When this happens, Strava sends you an awesome email...

By using Strava you can share, compare and compete with friends, Pros and people from all over the world. By tracking your fitness data not only are you able to analyze performance, you can make your fitness a social experience, providing motivation and camaraderie even if you’re exercising alone.
